The AKAI AP-D30 is a direct-drive turntable. This one would not hold a constant speed. I adjusted it and it got better, but the control loop voltages were all over the place. When in doubt, and the patiend hails from the early eighties... recap.

Short J1 pins 3, 4 and 8, set VR4 to -100mV on pin 1.
