For rather large values of &#8220;a bit&#8221;. And since we needed to be there to sort out banking nonsense anyway, and with Ethiopian offering R7500 return flights to Vienna, off we went.<\/p>\n<p>First thing to know is, you don&#8217;t hire a car in Austria. Actually, you don&#8217;t do anything involving money in Austria. The place is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4583cr.jpg\">expensive<\/a>. So we caught a bus from the airport to Maribor.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4194\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4259r.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4259r.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4259r-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Austria is very scenic.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4195\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4257r.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4257r.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/IMG_4257r-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We enjoyed looking at the scenery&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Got to Maribor, hired a car, did some shopping (this is a recurring theme), drove to Globoka.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4216\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/GroundBefore-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"594\" height=\"537\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/GroundBefore-1.jpg 594w, http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/GroundBefore-1-300x271.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 594px) 100vw, 594px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now the main problem is that the little house is tiny. It was built as a &#8220;summer getaway&#8221; in the eighties, when a whole lot of this kind of thing apparently happened. But now, the people who built them are passing on and their children have no interest, so they go on the market for not a whole lot of money.<\/p>\n<p>But we got basically a bachelors with a toilet, no bath or shower. In the picture you will see I&#8217;ve moved the second beam from the wall up to give about 6&#8217;5&#8243; clearance. This&#8230;. rarely happens. Well, we went shopping&#8230; but we also braaied.
