{"id":4592,"date":"2020-11-11T18:00:09","date_gmt":"2020-11-11T16:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/?p=4592"},"modified":"2020-12-01T07:10:36","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T05:10:36","slug":"kruger-2020-thoughts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/?p=4592","title":{"rendered":"Kruger 2020: Reflections"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We have previously had some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/?cat=93\">marvellous<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/?p=3666\">sightings<\/a>,\u00a0 so let me say, straight off the bat, this trip was not so good for sightings. We had some really good experiences, however.<\/p>\n<p>For example, we saw some wild dogs on the first day. But unlike the 2016 trip, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/?p=3666\">where we had them in the road first thing<\/a>, they were too far into the bush for a decent photograph.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4596\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/20201111-162924-1100-T-IMG_8953r.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the S147, not far from where we watched a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/20181130-050520-IMG_1822-Canon-EOS-1300D-600-mm-cr.jpg\">mom &amp; baby leopard<\/a> last time,\u00a0 there was an elephant carcass with hyena and vultures all over it (more about this later).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-4597\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/20201111-174008-1100-T-IMG_8972cr.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"458\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We had elephants chase lions three times.<\/p>\n<p>We saw hyenas playing, interesting birds, tiny elephant, lions wreaking havoc with a herd of impala&#8230; all in all it was a good trip.<\/p>\n<p>But it really bugs me how blas\u00e9 we&#8217;ve become.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have previously had some marvellous sightings,\u00a0 so let me say, straight off the bat, this trip was not so good for sightings.
