Dullstroom, Sabie and Hazyview"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dullstroom is a delightful little town I hadn&#8217;t visited for way too long. That made it the preferred lunch stop.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3368\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/dullstroom.jpg\" alt=\"dullstroom\" width=\"800\" height=\"590\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/dullstroom.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/dullstroom-300x221.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/dullstroom-768x566.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We stopped at <a href=\"http:\/\/picklesandthings.co.za\/\">Pickles &amp; Things<\/a> where we had to try the trout. It&#8217;s what the town is famous for. Then we dropped in at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TramsAntiques\/\">Tram&#8217;s Antiques<\/a> where they had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/TramsAntiques\/photos\/a.121198064731808.1073741828.120959904755624\/519140518270892\/?type=3&amp;theater\">a player piano<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wouterdewaal\/posts\/10154053291761882\">not a whole lot of money<\/a>. Coupled with the auspiciousness of the date I only barely managed to avoid temptation.<\/p>\n<p>Next stop, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hopshollow.com\/\">Hops Hollow<\/a>, &#8220;The Highest Brewery in Africa&#8221;. Personally I don&#8217;t care how high they may be, I just wanted beer. But when we got there, there was a sign saying &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metrolyrics.com\/alices-restaurant-massacre-lyrics-arlo-guthrie.html\">closed on Tuesdays<\/a>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3285\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160322s-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"20160322s\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160322s-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160322s-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160322s-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/20160322s.jpg 1632w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So we proceeded on to Sabie where we found the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sabiebrewery.com\/\">Sabie Brewing Company<\/a>, where I ended up buying 12 bottles (lager and IPA) after tasting all six their beers. I was impressed by the lager.<\/p>\n<p>Went shopping and booked into the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hazyparklodge.co.za\/\">Hazy Park Lodge<\/a> which is somewhat eclectic but very good value for money at R450 for the two of us, and also about half an hour from the closest Kruger Park gate (Phabeni).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3286\" src=\"http:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/P1120429s.jpg\" alt=\"P1120429s\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/P1120429s.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/P1120429s-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.retro.co.za\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/P1120429s-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Big bedroom, big living area, lots of kitchen space, available per night or for longer periods (like a month, for example).
